Vote YES on SP to Maintain Quality Education in South Pasadena Schools
South Pasadena is renowned for its quality and award-winning schools which rank among California’s best. However, many of our neighborhood schools are 60 years old and have aging facilities; roofs, plumbing and HVAC systems need repair, and outdated classrooms and science labs need upgrades to meet today’s educational standards.
That’s why we need Measure SP to keep South Pasadena schools safe and continue to provide the excellent education our community deserves.
YES on SP will...
Provide modern classroom technology and infrastructure
Upgrade, improve, and provide age-appropriate restrooms for all students
Repair and replace aging roofs, plumbing, gas lines, sewer lines, and electrical systems
Update classrooms and labs to prepare students for college and careers
Renovate the SPHS Anderson Auditorium
Improve student safety and school security including security fencing, security cameras, safety protection systems, emergency communications systems, smoke detectors, fire alarms, and sprinklers
Remove any remaining hazardous materials from school sites
Without Measure SP, South Pasadena schools face rising repair costs and potential safety hazards, threatening the quality of education and student safety.
Measure SP Requires Fiscal Accountability by...
Requiring all funds remain locally controlled and cannot be taken by the State
Requiring an independent citizens’ oversight committee, mandatory annual audits, and public disclosure of spending ensure all funds are used for voter-approved projects only
Ensuring no funds used for administrators’ salaries or pensions
Guaranteeing every dollar directly benefits our local schools
Measure SP is an investment in our children and our community. Excellent public schools benefit our kids, our community, and our property values.
By June 2, join parents, grandparents, teachers, and community and business leaders in voting YES on SP to maintain quality education in South Pasadena schools.
